# Python 2 Installed?

Zymkey fully supports Python 3 from my experimenting, so why is Python 2 (which has not been receiving security updates for about 10 months) being installed by default? I understand if some people need it for legacy support, but I absolutely do not want Python 2 installed on my devices. Would it be safe to uninstall python 2, or is it neccasary for the zymkey to work?

You are correct it is for legacy support. Zymkey fully supports Python3. You can uninstall Python2.
